In most Windows versions (Windows 95, 98, XP) the sound settings can be accessed via the Task Bar from the bottom right hand side of your screen (Near the clock)
Example (Windows XP)


  • Double click the Volume Icon (Speaker) with your left mouse button. This will display the playback (Volume Control etc.) settings for your PC Sound.

  • Select OPTIONS from the menu and click ADVANCED CONTROLS

  • Example

  • Next, click the ADVANCED button under the MIC column

  • Example

  • Ensure the MIC BOOST option is UN-TICKED then click CLOSE

  • Example

  • Select OPTIONS from the menu and click PROPERTIES

  • Example

  • From the Properties box, click RECORDING and tick the box next to STEREO MIX and/or WHAT YOU HEAR then click OK
    This is now the RECORDING CONTROL setup.
